Class participation
Mostly subjective, but nonetheless of great importance. 33% of
the final grade.
Standards:

Does the student have fewer than two unexcused absences?

Does the student take an active role in the physical activity of the
class?

Does the student ask questions, demonstrate that she or he has
read the assigned material and reflected on the concepts presented in
class?
Skills Assessment
33% of the final grade
Standards:

Does the student demonstrate competence in the
fundamental skills for the first ten class sessions under the
category of Practice Subjects in the Syllabus?

Does the student demonstrate growth and refinement
of at least half of the fundamental skills?
Final exam
33% of the final grade

Short-answer questions on history, tactics, rules and
nomenclature.

Essay on a choice of topics.

Analysis of video segments for the purposes of judging
action.
