f. 13: the inside and outside borders are done by different decorators. The decision was apparently made to augment the decoration of the frontispiece by adding the outside border with the elaborate staff. The frontispiece of the Morgan Library copy of the Livre de la chasse has the same division of the inside and outside borders with again the outside border being done in a more elaborate form by a different decorator. This argues that both manuscripts were being made concurrently.
