Majors
The Art Department offers BA and BS degrees in two majors: 1) Art Major; 2) Computer Art major.
1) Art Major: This 33 s.h. major can be taken for either a BA or BS degree. Students are expected to complete a 15 s.h. Foundation Requirement, and complete the requirements for one of the following concentrations:
A student can get transcript recognition for only one of the concentrations. BA students need to take 90 s.h. of Liberal Arts credits and can take a maximum of 60 s.h. in Art courses (ARTH, ARTS, or CART). BS students need to take a minimum of 60 s.h. of Liberal Arts credits and can take a maximum of 60 s.h. in Art courses (ARTH, ARTS, or CART).
Students entered the College by the Spring of 2000 can select a major in Studio Art (BA only) or Art History (BA or BS). Studio Art majors under the old progam can take a maximum of 60 s.h. in Art courses (ARTH, ARTS, or CART). These students can also select the new major.
2) Computer Art Major: This 33 s.h. major can be taken for a BA or BS degree. BA students are limited to a maximum of 45 s.h. of ARTH, ARTS, and CART courses, while BS students can take a maximum of 60 s.h. of ARTH, ARTS, and CART courses.
Minors
The Department also offers minors in Art History, Computer Art, and General Art.
