Homework #3 due 9/22/06

I. As described in the syllabus, I include a grades link which includes an ongoing anonymous tabulation of each student's homework and exam grades. Thus, part one of this assignment is:
Supply me, via email, with a "secret" four-digit alphanumeric code, of your choosing, which I will use for identity purposes on this web-site
OR
let me know, via email, that you do not wish to have your grades listed on the web-page, even if this is anonymous.
By emailling me with this information, I will also be able to maintain a course e-mail list. You should send me your email immediately upon reading this assignment, or no later than Friday 22 September.

II. 1-8. Do the following problems from the General Problems at the end of Chapter 3,
which begins on page 65 of the sixth edition of Giancoli:

2, 4, 7, 9, 13, 21, 23, 27
Do your work neatly and legibly, preferrably one problem per page, on loose-leaf paper without ragged edges.

Place any final numerical answers in a box, so that your solution is evident, and stands out from the work.

Use a ruler to draw any graph axes, and label all graphs clearly. Do not forget units.

Staple all pages together.
