How to Succeed in Physics…and in College

  • Before class preparation
Read the topics before class (light reading).
Make a mental note of troublesome areas.
  • Active involvement during class
Stay focused and alert (thinking, reacting). A lecture is not a TV show!
  • After class review
Refer to the text for important points learned during the lecture.
Try the suggested Review Questions and/or Problems, if any.
  • Class attendance
Very important! Studies consistently show that better attendees do better in class.
  • Develop real confidence
The beginning of understanding is the willingness to question your own knowledge.
Learning takes time.
  • Studying for exams
Last minute studying does not work!
Attend review sessions.
Get help if you need it.
  • Taking exams
Relax!
Read the questions carefully and take your time in answering them.
Aim for a better performance, not a better grade.
  • Your teacher can not make you learn Physics…only you can do that!
