§There are four English Language Arts (ELA) Standards.

§For clusters of grade levels (PreK-1, 2-4, 5-6, 7-8, and
9-12), specific objectives
are described in the areas of reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

§There are also Early Literacy Competencies for PreK
through third grade. These are
also categorized into reading, writing, listening, and speaking. These competencies offer teachers further specificity as to
what early literacy skills students
