The Red Dragons moved up three spots in the final team standings from 2008. Leading the way was sophomore Liz Maziejka (Hudson Falls/Hudson Falls) and two freshmen, Sarah Timmons (Schodack/Maple Hill) and Lauren Brunetto (Fishkill/Beacon). All three won SUNYAC individual titles as well as scoring in other events to help Oneonta score 90 points.  Maziejka won her SUNYAC championship in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:04.04, which was also an ECAC qualifying time in the event. She also ran the leadoff leg for the 1,600-meter relay that captured the conference championship in an ECAC qualifying time of 3:57.78. Maziejka also placed sixth in the 100-meter dash and was part of the 400-meter relay foursome that took third place in a time of 51.03. She scored a total of 17 points during the two days to lead the women.  Timmons was Oneonta’s top performer in the throws during the championship. She won the discus with a throw of 38.58 meters, which was nearly two meters further than the second place thrower while reaching the ECAC qualifying mark in the process. She also scored points in the javelin throw with a fourth place finish in that event.  Brunetto showed her versatility on the track where she captured the SUNYAC title in the 800 meters while being a part of both relays. She won the 800 in a time of 2:16.59, which was an ECAC qualifying time.  Senior Janine Sacca (Guilderland/Guilderland) ran the anchor leg for both relays. She also scored in the 100 and 200 with fourth place finishes in both events.  Junior Kristen Stein (Gloversville/Gloversville) completed the winning foursome in the 1,600 relay.
