Construction has just gotten underway.  The infield still has the bleachers on it from graduation.  However, they have started digging outside of the tree line on the final turn.

They have cleared the top layer of the infield off and made large dirt piles on the edge of the track.  Base work will underway soon.

Base work continues as a trench is dug in the middle for water and electric.

A large amount of dirt has been moved lately.  They have dug into the hill in order to widen the track to accommodate 8 lanes.

Dirt continues to be moved.  The bases for the light poles are set and they should be standing tall soon.

The lights are up and the steeplechase and long/triple jump pits are in!  Base work continues for the artificial turf.

The drainage system between the track and artificial turf is in and now you can distinguish between the two.

Base work is nearly complete on both the turf and the track.  Concrete work has begun on the patio.

The e-layer for the turf and the asphalt base for the track are down.  The patio is nearly complete with the stairs.

The fence around the track is up and the turf is being put down.

Friday, October 26, 2001
The Astro-Turf is down and the lines are almost complete.  Track work should begin soon.

Thursday, November 8, 2001
The Astro-Turf is complete with the lines.  The black middle layer of track is completely down.  The red spray top should go down soon.

The final layer is down and the track is red.  The lines will be painted when the weather allows.
