NCAA Atlantic Regional Qualifier @ Van Cortlandt Park - Saturday, November 10 Oneonta State completed the season with a 28th place finish out of 32 points with 776 points. They were again led by sophomore Brian Suozzo who finished in 126th place with a time of 29:25. Suozzo finished the year as the top Red Dragon runner in every race. This week, however, he was closely followed by sophomore Dan Verdi, who finished in 134th place with a time of 29:39. Also turning in strong performances were freshman Bryan Reles, who placed 159th in a time of 30:17, despite not training for two weeks with a shin injury, and junior Lee Lurie, who placed 168th with a time of 30:28. The Red Dragons finished the year with an overall record of 39-122, a big improvement over last year's record of 4-108. 126th Brian Suozzo, So. 29:25
ECAC Championship @ Williams College - Saturday, November 3 The Red Dragons placed 21st with 529 points, bettering last year's team place of 32nd. Sophomore Brian Suozzo ran an impressive race in finishing 10th, which is the highest place finish in recent history by any Oneonta State runner at ECAC's. Brian was disappointed with his race at SUNYAC's two weeks ago, where he finished 20th. He more than made up for it covering the 8,000 meter course in 27:17. Also turning in a strong performance was sophomore Dan Verdi, who placed 88th in a time of 29:18. 10th Brian Suozzo, So. 27:17
Mayor's Cup @ Franklin Park - Sunday, October 28 Oneonta State competed at the Mayor's Cup at Franklin Park in Boston. They placed 19th with 997 points, competing against some of the best USATF clubs in the country and 4 other collegiate teams. Four of the six Red Dragon finishers ran personal bests. 173rd Brian Suozzo, So. 27:14
SUNYAC Championship @ New Paltz - Saturday, October 20 The Red Dragons placed 9th out of 10 teams with 242 points, just 16 points behind the 8th place team, Fredonia. Last year, Oneonta State also finished 9th, but were behind 8th place by 100 points. This year, they were paced by sophomore Brian Suozzo, who finished 20th with a time of 27:23. Scoring for the Red Dragons were sophomore Dan Verdi (65th-29:31), freshman Bryan Reles (71st-29:53), freshman Matt Valcik (78th-30:15), who ran a personal best, and junior Lee Lurie (81st-30:34), in his first race since returning from injury. 20th Brian Suozzo, So. 27:23
Hamilton College Invitational - Saturday, October 6 Oneonta State placed 8th out of 10 teams with 204 points. They were again led by sophomore Brian Suozzo, as half the team ran personal best times over the 8,000 meter course. Suozzo finished in 8th place in a time of 26:53, breaking 27:00 for the first time in his career. He was the first non-Ithaca College runner to finish. Also, running PR's were freshmen Bryan Reles in 44th (28:53) and Anthony Cordero in 86th (32:52). 8th Brian Suozzo, So. 26:53
Oneonta State Invitational - Saturday, September 29 The Red Dragons scored 56 points in placing 2nd out of 3 teams in their first home meet in several years. New Paltz won the meet with 22 points. Oneonta just outdistanced cross town rival, Hartwick College by 1 point. The Red Dragons were paced another great effort from sophomore, Brian Suozzo. He won the meet by 6 seconds in a time of 23:11 over the 4 mile course. Suozzo remained undefeated in his 2 trips to Hartwick's course this year. He established a course record 2 weeks ago over the new 8,000 meter course and equaled that feat today over the 4 mile course. Also, turning in strong performances were sophomore, Bryan Reles in 9th place in a time of 24:46 and junior, Eric Duffy in 16th place in a time of 26:00. 1st Brian Suozzo, So. 23:11
NYU Invitational @ Van Cortlandt Park - Saturday, September 22 Oneonta State placed 22nd out of 37 teams with 716 points against the best competition in the Atlantic Region and beyond. The Red Dragons were again led by sophomore, Brian Suozzo who finished the 8,000 meter course with a time of 28:48 in 93rd place. Freshman, Bryan Reles turned in a strong performance in 148th place with a time of 29:45, breaking 30:00 for the first time. Hartwick College Invitational - Saturday, September 15 The Red Dragons placed 4th out of 7 teams with 114 points, outdistancing host and in town rival, Hartwick by 1 point. Delhi College won with 29 points. Oneonta was paced by an outstanding performance by sophomore Brian Suozzo. He was the overall winner in a time of 28:23 over the challenging 8K course. Suozzo ran very strong in the last woods loop to break away from a group of three runners with a mile to go. Brian ran his miles over the summer and now it is paying off for him. Also running well for the Red Dragons was freshman Bryan Reles, who moved up from 29th place at the first mile to finish 15th with a time of 30:30. 1st

Pat Peterson Invitational @ Oswego - Saturday, September 8 The Red Dragons finished in 11th place out of 16 teams at Oswego with 339 points. The conditions were treacherous by the time the race started at 1:00 pm. It was extremely warm and humid. However, they still ran tough enough to improve on last year's 14th place finish. Sophomore, Brian Suozzo led the way with a 47th place finish in a time of 30:21 over the 8,000 meter course. 47th

Cardinal Classic @ Plattsburgh - Saturday, September 1 Oneonta State opened up their 2001 season with a 7th place finish at the Cardinal Classic in Plattsburgh. They scored 186 points while Plattsburgh won with 33 points. It was a decent start to the year. The Red Dragons look to be vastly improved over last year with added depth. They were led by sophomore Brian Suozzo in 9th place in a time of 21:19 over the 4 mile course. 9th
