Albany Spring Classic - Friday, May 11

The Red Dragon Track completed it's first year of competition at the University at Albany Spring Classic.  As a prelude to next year, freshman Chris Smith finished the season strong in the Javelin with another PR of 52.64 meters.  The Red Dragons will begin official competition in 2002 and enter the SUNYAC conference, ECAC, and NCAA Division III in 2003.

Hartwick Invitational - Saturday, April 21

The Red Dragon Track Club competed for the second time this season.  Highlights included the women's DMR taking home the victory and freshman Chris Smith placing 2nd in the javelin with another personal best throw of 51.36 meters.

West Point Invitational - Saturday, March 31

The Red Dragon Track Club competed for the first time ever this weekend at the West Point Invitational.  The highlight of the meet was the 9th place finish of freshman Chris Smith in the men's javelin.  Smith threw 50.08 meters (164' 4"), which was a personal best.   This was only his second day of throwing outside this season due to poor weather.  Also, putting in a good performance was freshman Sean McCormick.  He placed 3rd in his heat of the 1500 meters in a personal best time of 4:17.30.   Sophomore Eric Duffy, freshman Eric Stephens, and freshman Ryan Curran each ran the 100 meters with times of 12.30, 12.30, and 12.60, respectively.  That trio also teamed with Smith to run the 4x100 meter relay and placed 4th in their heat with a time of 48.50.  The lone female competitor was sophomore Lisa Johnson.  She placed 2nd in her heat of the 400 meters in a time of 1:12.03.  The Red Dragon Track Club will next compete at the Hartwick College Invitational on April 21st.
