NCAA Atlantic Regional Qualifier - Saturday, November 11

The Red Dragons had all 6 runners run personal bests in placing 18th out of 26 teams with 519 points.  They avenged loses at the SUNYAC Championships to Buffalo State and Brockport.  Oneonta was led by senior Dawn Koopman, in her last race as a Red Dragon.  She saved her best for last in placing 62nd in a time of 19:42.  She was followed by a great team effort from freshman Jessica Tylutki and senior Raena Weimer.  They ran 20:25 and 20:28 while placing 93rd and 96th, respectively.  Junior Sara Snyder was next in 129th with a time of 21:23, more than a minute ahead of her previous personal best.  Rounding out the scoring for the Red Dragons was freshman Abby McQueeney Penamonte in 152nd place with a time of 22:27, well ahead of her previous PR as well.  Sophomore Missy Hext  finished the great day for Oneonta in 161st while running 22:52.

 

ECAC Championships @ Tufts - Saturday, November 4

The Red Dragons had an impressive showing in placing 16th out of 35 schools with 496 points in their best race of the year.  Leading the charge was senior Dawn Koopman in 50th place in a time of 20:50 on the challenging Tufts University Farm Course in North Grafton, MA.  She was followed by senior Raena Weimer in 98th place in 21:45 and freshman Jessica Tylutki in 111th in 22:05.  The biggest race of the day was turned in by junior Sara Snyder.  She ran 22:17 to better her personal best time by over 30 seconds.  She ended up right behind Jessica in 116th.  Abby McQueeney Penamonte also turned in a great effort to round out the scoring for Oneonta.  She ran close to her personal best with a time of 23:50 in 157th place.  Sophomore Missy Hext placed 175th while running 24:21, her best time of the year, as well. 

 

SUNYAC Championships @ Oswego - Saturday, October 21

The Red Dragons placed 8th out of 9 schools in a hard fought battle.  They tallied 188 points, just 7 points out of 6th place and 15 points out of 5th place.  They were again led by senior Dawn Koopman who ran her season's best time of 20:50 in placing 20th.  She was followed by freshman Jessica Tylutki and senior Raena Weimer in 41st (21:55) and 42nd (21:57) places, respectively.  Junior Sara Snyder was 4th for the Red Dragons in 61st place overall in a time of 22:55, while junior Karen Marzuk rounding out the scoring in 64th place in a time of 23:12.  Other finishers for Oneonta State were Abby McQueeney Penamonte (71st-24:01), Missy Hext (76th-25:00), and Arian Mahrer (79th-27:13).

 

University at Albany Invitational - Saturday, October 14

The Red Dragons placed 9th out of 11 schools with 253 points in their final tune-up before the SUNYAC Championships next week as Oswego.  Senior Dawn Koopman was first across the line for Oneonta in 32nd place in a time of 21:00.  She was followed by Jessica Tylutki (57th-22:13), Sara Snyder (76th-23:15), Karen Marzuk (97th-24:55), Missy Hext (99th-25:18), Abby McQueeney Penamonte (103rd-25:41), and Arian Mahrer (106th-26:46).

 

Hawk Harrier Classic @ New Paltz - Saturday, October 7

The Red Dragons had 6 out of 7 runners run their season's best times while placing 2nd out of 4 teams with 56 points.  Three Oneonta runners earned t-shirts with top 15 performances and were only separated by 23 seconds.  Senior Dawn Koopman led the way in 4th place with a time of 21:11.  Freshman Jessica Tylutki was right on her heels in 5th with a time of 21:16 and senior Raena Weimer was 10th in 21:34.  Oneonta also got big performances from junior Sara Snyder in 24th in 22:44 and freshman Abby McQueeney Penamonte in 28th with a time of 23:39.  Other Oneonta finishers were Missy Hext (37th-25:04) and Arian Mahrer (41st-26:03).

 

Delhi Weekday 5K Classic - Tuesday, October 3

In a low-key double dual meet, the Red Dragons beat Delhi College (26-29) and lost to Hartwick College by 1 point (28-27).  Senior Dawn Koopman led the way with a 3rd place finish with a time of 21:56.  Other Red Dragon finishers were Jessica Tylutki (5th-22:29), Raena Weimer (7th-22:51), Sara Snyder (12th-23:58), and Abby McQueeney Penamonte (16th-25:15).

 

Cardinal Classic @ St. John Fisher - Saturday, September 23

In the best race of the season to this point, The Red Dragons finished 4th out of 11 schools with 124 points.  Senior Dawn Koopman paced the team with a 10th place finish in a time of 21:01, while freshman Jessica Tylutki was close behind in 15th place with a time of 21:19 and senior Raena Weimer was 23rd in a time of 21:34.  Other Red Dragon finishers were Karen Marzuk (42nd-23:00), Sara Snyder (50th-23:40), Abby McQueeney Penamonte (60th-24:19), and Missy Hext (78th-26:13).

 

Hartwick College Invitational - Saturday, September 16

The Red Dragons traveled across West Street to visit their rivals on the hill, Hartwick College.  They placed 4th out of 4 schools with 84 points.  Senior Raena Weimer led the way with a 7th place finish in a time of 22:08.  Freshman Jessica Tylutki followed her teammate in with a 13th place finish in a time of 22:29.  Other Red Dragon finishers were Karen Marzuk (21st-23:44), Abby McQueeney Penamonte (24th-24:14), Sara Snyder (28th-24:46), and Missy Hext (35th-26:32).

 

Pat Peterson Invitational @ Oswego - Saturday, September 9

Oneonta State opened up their 2000 season with a 13th place finish at the competitive Pat Peterson Invitational.  The Red Dragons scored 376 points and were led by Senior Dawn Koopman.  She ran 21:10 to finish in 54th place.  Other Red Dragon finishers were Jessica Tylutki (101st-22:30), Raena Weimer (109th-22:46), Karen Marzuk (133rd-23:22), Sara Snyder (152nd-24:04), Abby McQueeney Penamonte (167th-25:08), Missy Hext (177th-26:04), and Arian Mahrer (189th-27:09).
