– Saturday,
November 12, 2005 Oneonta State placed 16th out of 28 teams with 440 points. The highlight of the day was the performance of Kaitlin O’Sullivan. The junior placed 15th overall to earn the 1st ever All-Region honor in school history. Her time of 23:10 over the sloppy 6,000 meter golf course at Genesee Valley Park missed the last individual qualifying spot for next week’s NCAA Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University by 5 seconds. The top 3 teams and the next 4 individuals will make the trip. O’Sullivan, however, was the 5th individual. “Kaitlin turned in the race of her life at the biggest meet of her career,” commented head coach Matt LoPiccolo. “Despite being the first one out, I couldn’t be more proud of her!” Her teammates turned in solid efforts, as well. Freshmen Katie Fox and Ali Kosinski placed 89th and 108th in times of 25:29 and 25:51, respectively.
