NCAA Atlantic Region Championships @ Van Cortlandt Park – Saturday, November 10, 2007

Oneonta State placed 18th out of 37 teams with a score of 535 points to close out the 2007 campaign.  Freshman Celia Alterio and sophomore Amberlyn Mattice led the way by placing 49th and 50th, respectively.  Both set personal best times of 23:40 and 23:41 over 6,000 meters, and are ranked #2 and #3 all-time in O-State history over that distance.  Junior Kaitlyn Keys also set a huge PR in placing 125th in a time of 25:18.  Sophomore Margaret Conlon placed 144th with a personal best time of 25:32.  Junior Ali Kosinski was the last scorer in 181st place with a time of 26:43.  Freshmen Kim Loveland and Danielle Bonsignore placed 188th and 198th, respectively, with personal best times of 27:04 and 27:27.

ECAC Championships @ Mt. Greylock H.S. (Williams College) – Saturday, November 3, 2007

Oneonta State placed 13th out of 31 teams with a score of 368 points, improving 175 points from their 15th place finish in 2006.  Freshman Celia Alterio led the way with a 22nd place finish.  Her time of 23:58 was a personal best for 6,000 meters.  Sophomore Amberlyn Mattice was next in 32nd, running 24:16 and battling a sore ankle.  Classmate Margaret Conlon and junior Kaitlyn Keys came across the line together in 26:03 with Conlon placing 91st and Keys 92nd.  For Keys, it was a personal best.  Junior Ali Kosinski was the last scorer in 143rd place with a time of 27:07.  Freshmen Kim Loveland and Danielle Bonsignore placed 155th and 172nd, respectively, with personal best times of 27:17 and 28:06.

SUNYAC Championships @ Potsdam – Saturday, October 20, 2007

The Red Dragons placed 6th out of 10 teams with 161 points.  Amberlyn Mattice became the third woman in school history to earn All-SUNYAC honors.  The sophomore placed 13th in a time of 23:56 over the 6000 meter course in Potsdam.  The top seven individuals earn first team honors with the eighth through fifteenth place finishers earning second team honors.  Freshman Celia Alterio just missed the All-SUNYAC team, running an impressive race in finishing 17th.  Her time of 24:14 is the fastest ever run over 6000 meters by an Oneonta State freshman.  Also turning in a solid race was junior Kaitlyn Keys in 50th place with a time of 26:18.  Rounding out the scoring for the Red Dragons were junior Ali Kosinski in 61st place and freshman Danielle Bonsignore in 72nd place with times of 27:28 and 28:19, respectively.

The Red Dragons placed 5th out of 8 teams with 155 points.  Sophomore Amberlyn Mattice placed 7th overall in a time of 18:44 over the 5,000 meter course to lead the way.  Freshman Celia Alterio was next in 43rd place in 20:46.  Running strong races and finishing well were sophomore Margaret Conlon in 50th and juniors Ali Kosinski and Kaitlyn Keys in 55th and 56th, respectively.  The trio had times of 21:12, 21:18, and 21:20.

The Red Dragons placed 24th out of 33 teams with 622 points.  It was the first time racing 6,000 meters for five of the top seven runners.  Sophomore Amberlyn Mattice once again led the way, placing 30th in a time of 23:51.  Freshman Celia Alterio finished 77th in a time of 24:47.  Sophomore Margaret Conlon was next in 164th (26:36) with junior Kaitlyn Keys right behind in 169th with a time of 26:51.  Freshman Kim Loveland rounded out the scoring for O-State with a 182nd place finish in a time of 27:22.

Oneonta State Airfield Invitational @ Fortin Park - Saturday, September 15, 2007

Defending their home turf for the 3rd straight week, O-State placed 2nd out of 9 teams with 76 points.  Amberlyn Mattice became the first runner from Oneonta, male or female, to win the Airfield Invitational since it started in 2004.  The sophomore ran conservatively the first mile and caught the leaders down the hill through 2,000 meters.  From there, she ran away from the field to win by 30 seconds in a time of 17:08 over the 4,500 meter course.  Freshman Celia Alterio turned in a great race as well, finishing 4th in a time of 17:46, 39 seconds faster than her time two weeks ago on the same course.  Running much improved races were junior Kaitlyn Keys, freshman Kim Loveland, and sophomore Margaret Conlon in 31st, 34th, and 37th place, respectively.  Their times were 19:36, 19:38, and 19:41.  The trio rounded out the scoring for the Red Dragons.

Hartwick College Fast Course 5K @ Oneonta State - Saturday, September 8, 2007


In a dual meet against Hartwick College, the Red Dragons defeated the Hawks with a score of 19-42.  Sophomore Amberlyn Mattice and freshman Celia Alterio ran away from the field to place first and second respectively.  Mattice's time over 5,000 meters was 19:45 with Alterio breaking the 20 minute mark in a time of 19:59.  Juniors Kaitlyn Keys and Ali Kosinski placed fourth and fifth respectively.  For the second week in a row, the dual finished one second apart, this time with Keys running 22:06 and Kosinski running 22:07.  Freshman Kim Loveland was the fifth Red Dragon crossing the line in seventh place in a time of 22:55.

Oneonta State Early Bird Invitational @ Fortin Park – Saturday, September 1, 2007

The Red Dragons opened the 2007 season by placing 2nd out of 3 complete teams with 44 points.  Two newcomers led the way as sophomore transfer Amberlyn Mattice and freshman Celia Alterio placed 3rd and 4th, respectively.  The duo ran times of 18:13 and 18:25, which were the 2nd and 3rd fastest times by O-State athletes on their 4,500 meter home course.  Sophomore Margaret Conlon was next in 15th place with a time of 20:01 and junior Ali Kosinski was 16th in 20:27.  Newcomer and junior Kaitlyn Keys was the 5th scoring runner in 17th place, finishing strongly with Kosinski in a time of 20:28.
