Assignment: Poster

Create a 6"x16" poster that describes the process of "waking up in the morning" (or any other process you choose)

  • Your work should contain a series of images that would tell the story in a sequence of 10 "frames"
  • Your "frames" should be floated over a cool background
  • You must include a maximum of 5 photographs and an unlimited combination of Illustrations and type
  • Your type should never exceed one word in length
  • Remember that this poster is more like a manual and less like a comic book

Consider:

  • Using borders
  • Creating a "tight" overall composition
  • Overlapping frames, text, images
  • Using humor
  • Utilizing the element of surprise
  • Utilizing some scanned drawings
  • Tracing images to create graphics
  • Creating signs for each frame
  • Creating unconventional frame order
  • Using symbols to aid in navigating through the poster plane
  • Unconventional frame borders
  • Other computer applications as auxiliary tools (Bryce, poser, et all)
  • More information with less clutter

Use Adobe Photoshop to manipulate photographs, and Illustrator for the text, graphics, and to put together the poster.

Size: 10 x 21 in.

Save and submit the following:

  • A folder named "yourlastname-final2" which needs to contain:
  • a file named "yourlastname-final2.ai" (illustrator file format)
  • a file named "yourlastname.tif" (TIFF file format)
  • a file named "yourlastname-final2.pdf" (PDF file format)

Put everything in the Graphic Design Drop box.
