A Nice Weekend in January 2005
Skiing on the hills above Morris and on the Morris Central
School fields.
Snowshoeing at SUNY Oneonta College Camp.

Before you can go down hill you have to climb up the hill.
Pete is climbing using
a herringbone pattern. The name comes from the tracks the
skiis leave in the snow
when climbing this way.
It is a pretty big hill. Two other skiiers have gone up ahead
of him.
It is nice to look back down the valley. The road on the right
is Church St. The
steeple is the Morris Methodist Church. The farm buidings
are the Lull's. The hill
in the background is Patrick Hill which NYS 23 climbs on the
way out of Morris
to Oneonta. The dog is friendly but doesn't like the click
of the camera.
Ahhh, now we have set the camera to "snow" conditions.
The climbing has made us
warm enough to take our gloves and hats off.
Meanwhile back at the ranch a magazine provides Becki with
some reading.
Carol thinks about taking a nap.
Pete is still wide awake.
At Christopher's Lodge in Oneonta.
That's a nice way to hide a TV. Do they wash
the curtains or sand them at the lodge?
Breakfast at the Corfu. Belgian waffles and pistachio ice
cream for Becki.
Snowshoeing at the SUNY Oneonta College Camp. You don't often
find a snowless
seat in the winter.
Bright sun in the field below the Morris Central School bus
garage.
Without the leaves you learn where the birds placed their
nests last summer.
Becki uses her scarf to keep her hair out of her eyes. We
are on the east side of
NYS 51 and 23 here on the new fields.
Surely this style will catch on.
What a day to be outside. Becki was warm in her snow pants.
Below are some movies taken with the same digital camera that
I used to take
the photos. It is a Kodak EasyShare DX7440. You will need
the Quicktime viewer
to see the movies. If you don't have it you can get it here
free. Be sure to choose
the download that matches your operating system.
