I am currently an Assistant Professor in Apparel and Textiles at the SUNY College at Oneonta.
My research and professional interests include: clothing design, aesthetics, apparel marketing, computer applications in fashion design,
Chinese fashion, and cross-cultural influences in dress. I have spent the past ten years in
the apparel field, both in
industry and academia, working as a fashion journalist, editor, author, scholar, and teacher.

currently writing my seventh.
- Published more than 60 articles in a variety of magazines, newspapers, and academic journals.

Recent Activities
- November, 2007 - I gave an oral presentation entitled, "Chinese Bridal Dress in the Twentieth Century,"
at the ITAA annual conference in Los Angeles, CA, on November 10th.
- November, 2007 - Completed a training course in advanced pattern making in Lectra's Modaris software at Lectra's training facilities in Manhattan.
- September, 2007 - I recently wrote a section on Chinese imperial dress and Beijing Opera
costume for the upcoming book Grammar of Costume from Ivy Press.
- June, 2007 - I gave a presentation entitled Chinese Fashion Revival in the Post-Mao Era
at the Costume Society of America's annual national symposium in San Diego, CA, on June 1.
