CSCI 100 Homework 5

This assignment will introduce you to Microsoft Excel. It will demonstrate some basic functions and formatting capabilities. Using your book for this course, complete all of the following tasks. Note that you do NOT have to do any of the exercises at the end of the chapter unless you are specifically told to do so or you want to do extra practices. However, you are certainly encouraged to make some extra practice if you have more time. The more practice you can do, the better. Balance your time on all courses well.

  1. Read through and create Tutorial 1, found in the "Excel Tutorial 1" section of your book. You should create the Tutorial by following all of the instructions in the tutorial. When you have finished, the Tutorial will be complete and correct.
  2. Read through and create Tutorial 2, found in the "Excel Tutorial 2" section of your book. You should create the Tutorial by following all of the instructions in the tutorial. When you have finished, the Tutorial will be complete and correct. (Yes, we need to print out the worksheets. If you want to print a sheet on one page, please goto page setup, check Fit to 1 pages wide by 1 tall. Of course, if by choosing so, the words will be too small to read, you can stay with multiple pages. However, it is always good to know how to print out a not-too-big worksheet on one page.) If not on one single page? That is fine. But need to know how to make printout within one single page.
  3. Place a footer at the bottom of each worksheet that contains your name on the left side and the date in the center.

What to Hand In

Staple together, in the following order,

  1. an official CSCI 100 cover sheet You can find a link to the official cover sheet in the links section of the CSCI 100 home page.
  2. your resulting tutorials of 1 and 2 above. Place your cover letter first followed by the Tutorial that you created.

Hand in this package to your instructor on or before the due date listed at the top of this page. Remember, it is expected (the minimum) that your package will be extremely neat, in the order required, and stapled.
