We are so happy that you are visiting our webpage and interested in joining us at one or more of our meals. These meals offer tremendous learning experiences for the students and a fun and flavorful repast for you and your colleagues.
Before you move on to perusing our menus and we would like to provide you with some information to help you enjoy these delightful little escapes for the workaday world.
Meal reservations will be accepted starting Monday, September 7, 2009. We know it seems like it has been forever since last fall but the class has only meet three times so far this semester. We need this time to plan truly outstanding luncheons and you can't rush great food.
Guests are allowed to register for a maximum of three meals of any type (student club meals are not included in this restriction). We know that this is disappointing but we want as many people from across campus and the community to come for the fun as possible.
Most meals are priced at $7.00 per person but there are two meals priced at $10 per person. The additional price for those two meals will be donated to an FSRA scholarship in an effort to reward our current and future students for all of their hard work.* Additional donations are always cheerfully accepted!
A vegetarian choice can be available at each meal. Simply specify in your reservation that you would like the vegetarian option and we will prepare it fresh for you
Each season's menus and recipes will be available in the new Bistro du Monde recipe booklet for the modest price of $10. Booklets for both the 2008 and 2009 seasons will be available at the end of September 2009. The proceeds will be shared between the Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics program and the FSRA scholarship. Therefore you will be benefiting from hundreds of dollars worth of cookbooks and our expertise and supporting worthy causes all while learning how we pull off our culinary feats! *
These meals are produced by the students of FOOD 239 and FOOD 235 as part of the course learning and no profit is made on the sale of meal tickets. Please remember that, though the students strive to produce and serve a superb meal to our guests, this is a learning experience and as such may have an occasional detour from the intended plan.
Reserve seats for a specific meal by e-mailing the course instructor (Oscar Oberkircher) at oberkioj@oneonta.edu. Your reservation will be confirmed by an e-mail response. Payment for meals, cash or check payable to "OAS FOOD 239" @ $7.00 per person, can be made in person at the Human Ecology Department office (100 Human Ecology Bldg) or with Oscar Oberkircher (142 Human Ecology Bldg). Your meal tickets will be mailed to you.
Meal tickets are non-refundable because the money will be spent on food. If you can not attend a meal please give your ticket to someone else so that we have a full seating for the students.
The restriction of 3 meal purchases per person ends September 28 therefore please check again then and consider joining us for any additional meals that have open seats.
Below you will find a link to the luncheon dates and menus that will be featured. Please follow it to learn the excitement in store for you this semester.
