This site provides a quick reference to the web sites of the top Industrial Chemical companies. The emphasis is on companies that have major operations in the U.S. and also provide web information of careers. Please remember that mergers and other changes may rapidly make this information out of date. Let me know if you find any dead links. (pencehe@oneonta.edu)

• Accelrys (formerly known as Oxford Molecular Group) is a research company that supplies scientific software, research services, and information technology to the pharmaceutical, chemical, biotechnology, and academic markets. Career Opportunities for US and UK laboratories
• BASF is one of the world's largest companies in the chemical industry achieving sales of 48.776 B and employing 103,406 people in 39 countries.
  
• Bristol-Myers Squibb produces products with household names such as Clariol, Excredrin, Buffrin , Nuprin, NoDoze, Keri lotion and many more. They also have a careers page.
  
• Densply/Caulk. Densply/Caulk is a world-wide leader in the research, development, and manufacture of dental products and equipment.
  
  
• The Dow Chemical Company. The Dow Chemical Comapany is the fifth largest Chemical Company in the world. Dow has 94 operating manufacturing sies in 30 diffrent countries and employs about 39,500 people.
  
  
• DuPont DuPont is a world leading science and technology compant that produces chemicals, fibers, films, finishes, petroleum, plastics, healthcare products, biotechnology, and composite materials. DuPont has an excellent careers page with an application form and several jobs posted online
  
  
• Eastman Chemical Company is a leading international chemical company that supplies producers with more than 400 chemicals, fibers and plastics.
  
  
• Eastman Kodak Eastamn Kodak is a world leader in imaging which includes flm, cameras, motion picture, x-rays, professional photography, copiers, printing and publishing digital imaging. They have an Employment Oppurtunities page?.
  
  
• FMC. FMC Corporation is one of the worlds leading producers of chemicals and machinery for industry, government, and agriculture.
  
  
• Genentech. Inc. Genetech is a company internationally known for discovering, developing, manufacturing and marketing human pharmaceuticals for unmet medical needs. Genetech has a large Careers page .
  
• General Electric. GE is one of the largest manufacturing companies in the world. They manufacture everything from household appliences to silicones. See the GE Careers page for information on where to apply.
  
  
• Incyte Pharmaceuticals. Incyte Pharmaceuticals combines bioinformatics expertise with high-throughput DNA sequencing to create information-based tools for drug discovery and development.
  
• The ICI Group is one of the world's largest coatings, specialty chemicals and materials companies. ICI has over 50,000 products and more than 200 manufacturing facilities in over 55 countries worldwide. To get to the careers section, go to the pilot window in the upper left hand corner, then click on the first window to access the menu and go to recruitment. Unfortunately, most of the job openings that are listed seem to focus on PhD chemists.
  
• Johnson & Johnson. The world's largest and most comprehensive manufacturer of health care products. Serving the customer, pharmaceutical, diagnostic and professional markets. Johnson & Johnson employs 89,300 people in their 170 labs located in 50 different countries. Jobs are listed online, in addition to a link for graduates.
  
• Pharmacia, Upjohn and Monsanto have merged to form a single company called Pharmacia Corp. The resulting merged company has 60,000 employees in worldwide and maintains research, manufacturing, administrative, and sales offices in over 60 countries. Monsanto's Career page is still separate, however, and describes jobs listings that can be searched by function, location. or division..
  
• Pfizer. Pfizer is one of the worlds leading health care companies that manufactures pharmecuticals, medical devices, consumer health products and also has an animal health devision. The have lots of Job Openings for Chemists.
  
• Shell Oil Company (NOTICE THE BUTTON IN THE UPPER RIGHT CORNER THAT LETS YOU SKIP THE LENGTHY ANIMATION!) is a leading oil, gas and petrochemical company with operations primarily in the United States.
  
• Sigma-Aldrich Chemical Company The Sigma-Aldrich Chemical Comapny is a global Manufacturer of Chemical Goods. They also have Employment Oppurtunities listed online.
  
  
• Smithkline Beechman Pharmecuticals. Smithkline Beechman has an international reputation for innovative drug discovery and research. A page of job listings that are updated weekly.
• Scott Specialty Gases is an international producer and supplier of specialty gas products and equipment. Visit their site for domestic and international Career Opportunities. This site is also a valuable resource for technical and safety information including an online MSDS Library and a comprehensive downloadable Design and Safety handbook.
  
  
• Union Carbide. Union Carbide is a leading global chemical comapny that manufactures thousands of familiar products including shatterproof plastic bottles, antifreeze, medicine, crayons, cosmetics and personal care products. Union Carbide lists Job Openings on the JobWeb site.
  
• In April of 1999, Varian Associates, Inc. spun off its Instruments and Semiconductor businesses to form three new companies, which are now listed on three different web sites. You can still (as of June '00) go to the old Varian. home page, which is now only one of the three companies, or you can go to the individual sites at Varian Vacuum Technologies, Varian Electronic Manufacturing, or Varian Associates designs and manufactures quality Nuclear Magnetic Resonance instruments and are a leading supplier of spectrometers. The best way i found to look for available jobs is to use the site search button and look for employment. There didn't seem to be many jobs when I visited the site.
