This is a list of events I have come across that might be relevant to one or more of my classes. It is unsystematic and incomplete. MONDAYS
Psych Club and Psi Chi, the Psychology Honorary Society, meet MONDAYS at 4 pm in room 110 Fitzelle. (This is on the classroom side of the building.) Highly recommended for all Psych majors.
Saturday, November 5, 2005, 10 am to 3 pm, Morris Hall
Volunteer Conference. Fourth annual conference, with presentations on different volunteer opportunitites. Includes a main speaker followed by a number of separate workshops.
Monday, October 31, 2005; time to be announced but I think it's pretty much all day.
Graduate and Professional School Fair. This is a must-go event for everyone in the Careers class, and highly recommended for all psychology majors.

SUNY Oneonta Graduate Studies Open House. Learn about graduate programs offered at SUNY Oneonta in Childhood, Adolescence, or Literacy Education, School Counseling, Biology, or Earth Science. For info call 607-436-2523.

Internship Workshop. Find out about internships and internship opportunities. Sponsored by Educational Opportunity Program, this event includes presentations by representatives of several departments, including the Chair of the Psychology Department, Dr. Steve Gilbert.

Preventing Suicide in Otsego County: A Community Program. This program will begin with the award-winning DVD, No Turning Back. This will be followed by a question and answer session with a p[anel of people who have experience in dealing with suicide. Suicide Prevention Awareness Kits (SPEAK) and other materials will be available.

Sex Signals. "A provocative look at the issues of dating, sex, and ultimately, acquaintance rape on college campuses.... By blending a unique combination of improvisational comedy, education, and audience participation, this two-person show explores how mixed messages, gender role stereotypes, and unrealistic fantasies contribute to misunderstandings between the sexes."
