What is Geography?

It's More than Maps!

The aerial picture is from a photo flight conducted as part of the Airborne Missions course. It shows the bucolic beauty of our local landscape during the fall season. Ommegang, a local brewery that is committed to the local community is shown.

The mountainous landscape is the Great Tetons in Wyoming. Just some of the spectacular physical geography you might learn about in courses. Or perhaps you will do an internship at a National Park!

The group of people shown are Geography Club members at the Spring 2016 Department picnic. In the middle (in red) is Dr. Johnson.

The last picture is during Air Photo class. Students are completing a lab exercise during which they are using "old school" stereoscopes to examine the landscape in 3D.
